Originally constructed from rebar and pipes, bound explores contrasting materials and forms through the re-interpretation of a traditional high-back dining chair. Designed so that it can be deconstructed into base components for repair or recycling, the Bound chair is a venture in viewing design through the lens of the entire product lifecycle, from birth to inevitable death.
The Bound collection was originally developed to address concerns of environmental impact in furniture design, utilising only available materials and fully recyclable elements to create designer furniture that minimises this impact both in construction and at the end of the products life; the bound chair design incorporates paper, steel, timber, and carnauba wax.
