My investigation into Bronze — which led to my 2022 collection — revealed an unexpected connection: without Ceramic, there would be no Bronze. That discovery drew me into the history of what I call 'Legacy Materials'. Four years into working with these materials, I felt compelled to create a functional glass sculpture that could just as easily have been made 3,000 years ago. Eridu is the site of the earliest known glassmaking, and my 'Eridu Side Table' is a tribute to the forgotten inventors, artists, and scientists who laid the foundation for the materials we still use today.
